Direct Service Advocate
AWAIC is looking for a dedicated individual to fill a Direct Service Advocate position. Part-time position, Saturday - Sunday 12:00am - 8:00am. Position primarily works with domestic violence survivors in our emergency shelter.  Experience in domestic violence, direct service advocacy, and crisis intervention preferred. Bachelor's Degree in related field and/or bilingual skills are a plus.  AWAIC Staff are required to have reliable transportation, a valid Alaska Driver's License, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, bend, kneel, climb ladders and assist as necessary in cleaning and sanitizing the shelter.  Pay is DOE.  This position will be opened until filled by a qualified candidate. Relief Direct Service Advocate - On Call
AWAIC is seeking applicants for a Direct Service Advocate, relief position. Hours vary and are as needed, but candidates will be expected to cover shifts between the hours of 12am-8am. Position primarily works with domestic violence survivors in our emergency shelter.  Experience in domestic violence, social work, or crisis intervention preferred.  A Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or bilingual skills are a plus. A complete application is required. A current driver's license and background application are required. AWAIC Staff are required to have reliable transportation, a valid Alaska Driver's License, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, bend, kneel, climb ladders and assist as necessary in cleaning and sanitizing the shelter.
