This virtual “Lunch and Learn” training will focus on understanding the complex intersections of domestic violence and mental health. We will explore foundational information of domestic violence and the impacts of violence on victims, survivors, and communities, with a focus on mental health- including trauma, substance abuse and resources for supporting victims and survivors. 

This event is part of Mental Illness Awareness Week, October 4-10.

Kyle Hopkins is an investigative reporter and editor for the Anchorage Daily News, currently working with the news nonprofit ProPublica on a two-year investigation into sexual violence and the Alaska criminal justice system called the Unheard project. The project recently received the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.
